Oh Dr. Google - Somebody stop me!!

I need some follie experts!!!

After googling follie sizes, from finding out I have one at 23.... i'm now starting to worry that it might be too big if I don't ovulate soon! I have not got my LH surge yet nor is my line close to getting dark.... Someone take Google away from me!

    23 is fine.

    My successes with IUI come only when I have a follie that is 22+ at trigger time.

    If you're going natural (no trigger), then you'll probably O once it hits 25-30...so another two days or so (they usually grow 2mm/day).

    Get busy humping!! Smile

    ETA: BTW, did I miss something? Or you doing meds this cycle, or how do you know that you have a 23er in there?

    This is all natural right now. No meds yet, no trigger.

    I was getting my PCOS tests done, and the specialist wanted an u/s at CD 16-20 to check for cysts. Since I haven't ovulated she checked the sizes for me while I was in there.

    Maybe all i'm reading is regarding meds and triggering when they talk about sizes being too big.

    Most likely. The fear of them getting too big is that when you go to trigger, you already ovulated, which means that egg is gone, and too late to retrieve it (for IVF) and probably too late to get sperm up in there (IUI).

    It is possible for a follie to grow and grow and grow and never pop and release an egg, but that's fairly rare-ish. Plus, you'll KNOW. The pain will tell you.

    From my experience this cycle, this seems exactly right.  With the trigger they want you be as close to 20 as possible because once you get the shot, they want you to O within 35 hours.  They also want to make sure you have enough time to FWP, IUI or IVF retrieval depending on what protocol you are doing.

    I was so there my IUI cycle.  Mine was 26 I think-- but I didn't get KU that cycle.  Dr. Google messed with my head, and I know that that kind of stress is just as likely to lead to lack of pregnancy-- so as much as we hate this phrase, relax :)
