I have never had high blood pressure until 20 weeks pregnant. They said it was pregnancy induced high blood pressure. They gave me some techniques to lower it (prenatal yoga, lower my salt, drink more water and laying on the left side).
Well I had my blood pressure checked today and it was 130/70 which was down from the 140/80 at my 20 week appointment. In my opinion that is not lowered enough
Has anyone had a high reading during pregnancy and was anyone successful with bringing it down?
Re: Gestational high blood pressure question
I was somewhat successful the first time, and successful so far this pregnancy. I did acupuncture, yoga, hiked a lot, mediated, ate lots of protein last time. this time i'm also going to an osteopath, eating more protein, eating lots of fermented/probiotic food, avoiding (mostly) processed food...and i think that's it.
130/70 is fine though. you might also want to monitor it at home, it might be that it's normally a bit lower, and just happens to be higher at the office
