I know all babies are different, but I noticed that many people say their LOs eat different amounts per day.
DD will eat every last drop of her bottle no matter the amount of ounces in it. Everyday she gets 26 oz a day and 1-1/2 jars of Stage 1 baby food. She never refuses, so I'm not sure if I should offer her more or not. Am I not feeding her enough that she eats every single thing I give her or does she just have a good appetite?
Re: Just curious...
I'm interested to hear what others have to say. DD is the same way. She gets 30 ounces of formula and 1 container of stage 1 food in the evening.
Today at the pedi's office she mentioned that she should be eating 3 meals a day by 9 months, and at that time she should be taking less formula. How do we know how much formula / food to give, because A will eat anything you put in her mouth.
Sorry I'm no help. Just as confused and curious as you.
My DD is the total opposite.
I make her 6 ounce bottles and I am lucky if she will finish it everytime. She probably eats 25-30 ounces of formula a day and 5-6 ounces of food. She eats solids morning and evening.
I'm no help. I asked the nurse about it when Natalie got her shot because she eats 32 ounces of formula a day and she eats 3 meals a day, but very very tiny amounts. I was concerned that she hadn't decreased her formula intake and increased the amount of solids she was eating and the nurse didn't seem concerned at all. She just said that closer to a year she should be eating more solids and less formula. The times when I tried to get her to take 6 ounce bottles instead of 8 ounce bottles she screamed when she was finished, so I'm just going to follow Natalie's cues.
I think your DD would cry/let you know if she was still hungry.
Now I feel like we're under-feeding Morgan as she eats 20 oz of formula per day (and that's on a good day) and maybe 2-3 oz of solids? She's never been much of an eater.
