I posted this on my birth month board & I meant to post over here! (more mommy's active on this board, oops)
So we started giving Olivia solids (rice cereal) at the beginning of March. Slowly we have introduced different veggies & fruits. We increased to 2x a day on the advice of our doctor. She used to nurse 4 or 5 really good sessions a day & 1 or 2 that were shorter (thirsty/comfort). Now it seems like she is only nursing 1 or 2 really good sessions (early in the morning) & then 1 or 2 that are really short. The last couple of nights she's refused to nurse before going down for the night. ::insert sad mommy face here::
I'm so worried that she's not BF'ing enough. #1 - I'm worried that she's not getting all 'the good stuff' from BFing & #2 - I'm sooooo worried that my supply is going to drop.
My question is - If I've been feeding her lunch & dinner - should I just feed less the amount of solids that I've been giving her & offering the breast if she wants more? OR for a couple of days would you cut out 1-solid meal?
OR if someone has another suggestion I'd love to hear it!!
Re: BF'ing/Solids a question
Try to get her on a BFing schedule. She is going to get filled up because of the solids, however she is getting more calories from the milk, so try to nurse an hour after she eats solids, then every 2 hours if you can.
She also might be teething and that is why she is refusing to nurse at some points. Try to pump as well to keep up your supply. We gave her solids 1 hour after her first feeding in the morning and then nursed the rest of the day, and then at night I would feed her 2 hours before her bed time and then nurse right before bed.

This and I agree it could be a teething issue. Also make sure she doesn't have a stuffy nose. Sometimes DD will pull off if she has a lot in her nose.
She is teething (2 bottom front have just cut through) & we do make sure to always BF before solids. -- I gave her a little less, then what I had been giving her, at lunch today & will do the same at dinner. Thanks for your input.
