The giant ones.
think you are going the have one? Pretty sure my MIL has already purchased one because she mentioned going to the party store across town the other day and I know thats who sells them.
Funny thing is my neighbors don't even know I'm pregnant since I've been on lock down so long...Surprise. lol
I always thought they were so cute until the news recommended not to get them because you never know what crazies are out there wanting to steal a baby. BUT I think I'll let MIL get her happiness from it. We live in a quiet neighborhood on the last street so it really doesn't get much traffic passing by anyways..
Re: Stork Yard Signs
This exactly. I always thought I wanted one until I read literature from my hospital talking about security during and after your hospital stay and they mentioned this. Guess there will be no stork for me.
I think I'll make DH take it down after a day or two of being home. Food is good
My neighbors really are pretty great.
ETA: I'm pretty sure MIL wouldn't even prop it up there until the day we leave the hospital and I figure those two days after we'll all be home. Heck I think my Mom might stay for a week if I decide for her to.

You know, I thought maybe it was a regional thing. When I lived in Florida I never saw them. Then we moved to Texas and I've seen quite a few. DH's family always does them..

I just sure as heck hope she knows better than to put her name on it or DH is ripping it out as soon as we take a picture!

I'm so paranoid about this that I cut up our stroller, swing anf crib boxes into pieces small enough to bad before taking them out to the trash instead of putting the boxes on display next to the trash can.
We won't have a stork sign, but I fly small seasonal flags (I think this is a southern thing, too), and my mom bought a cute, "It's a Boy!" flag.
I'm not worried. Between my mom and his, we'll have people there with me for awhile when we first get home. And we won't leave it up too long. I see them all the time around here.
lol
Our house is in a cul de sac and a new community of 6 houses. Our neighbors are all safe but I don't know about the other passer-byers. I'd be too paranoid too!
My parents really want to do one so they will put one up in there yard. My LO wont stay there so it still is annoucing it but it wont be in my yard.
I've not seen any out here in ND but back in PA you would occasionally see stuff like this in yards. You can rent them. It never occurred to me to be worried about wackos preying on new moms... sad.

You're going to have to try a bit harder than that if you're wanting to stir up some drama, darling. We're a pretty mellow bunch around here.
So, OP, did you wind up with your stork sign??
Thanks Erin! I guess that sounded worse than I meant for it to, but I saw some not-so-nice posts as I was reading ...so i guess I was steeling myself.
To answer your question, no...not yet...I'm due near Christmas...but here's a photo of the one I saw down the street and really liked. Of course, it might be blue. I don't know what I'm having. I think it's more fun that way. Well, I tried...don't know how to do it.
