Recommend your sewing machine...
Does anyone have any recommendations for beginners. I'd really like to start sewing....use it as an outlet. If anyone has any good recs for a beginner/newbie that would be awesome. I would like to ask for one for Christmas.

I had a more expensive Singer (with less options!) before that and it broke on me. : My mom has always used Brother and swears by it. I guess I learned my lesson

The will last forever and they are incredibly easy to use. For beginners the low end Activa series and the Bernettes are great. You can find them for the same price range as a Brother, Singer or Kenmore.
