Ladies who had/have hemis... when did you find relief and what did you use? Tucks and dubicaine aren't really helping much. I'm a month pp and still have to take senekot to poop(comfortably anyway). It hurts so much! When will it end, or when should I ask the doc if there is anything they can do for me?

I've had them off and on for 6 weeks now and tucks or stool softeners weren't helping me either. This week I made a conscious effort to eat more fruits and veggies and have noticed a difference. Before my eating was just crap with being consumed by tending to LO.

Ugh... I have them too... plus I had a partial 3rd degree tear so I tore all the way to the anus (sorry, gross, I know...) Needless to say, going #2 has not been too enjoyable. I've been taking Colace twice a day but it doesn't seem to be cutting it. I think I need to make an effort to eat more fiber.

a cocktail of milk of magnesia, stool softeners, metameucil, and fiber pills, plus using tucks. when even this didnt work, i had to resort to a (gross) a glycerin suppository. its horrible. good luck

Sorry you got this....it is a little talked about pg side-effect. I got this and severe tear, my dr said the less you strain the less it hurts...ask ob about softener and lax...I also add fiber cereal, pro-biotic, and walking. I use tucks after and then ointment to keep sitting from hurting.

Mine didn't start until around 4 wks pp after a really hard stool. I am now taking 2 stool softeners twice daily, drinking a ton of water, and using Anusol topically to relieve the pain. It's slowly getting better. This was all on the advice of my GP.
