How did you find your nanny?

Hi Ladies,

I have had DS at an inhome daycare 2days/week this year. I have another LO due in June and would prefer to have a nanny at my own home starting September ( I have early starts and the idea of getting 2 LOs off to daycare in the morning before work sounds like too much for me!).

How did you find your nanny?

Also, I am a teacher so I won't need them to start until Spetember 1, is it too soon to start looking?

    I used care.com -- it took me I would say about 3 months each time I looked to find a nanny that I was happy with. So I would allow that much time atleast. I'd also say that with using care.com I get a TON of applicants so I did have to weed through a lot that wouldnt work for me. I would be careful & write your ad so that you are very specific with what you are looking for and if you post an ad now - you will most likely get a ton of applicants that are college kids looking for summer work, but I have always found someone through all the stuff. Ive also heard people use sittercity and a local agency was going to be my last resort.
