DH VENT!!!!

THAT MAN DRIVES ME INSANE!!!

My husband works at a coal mine.  His clothes are filthy disgusting when he gets home.  He has his very own laundry basket for his work clothes.

Why is it that his work clothes ALWAYS end up on the FLOOR??

Not just anywhere on the floor, but on the floor RIGHT NEXT TO THE LAUNDRY BASKET!!!!

HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO TOSS YOUR CLOTHES 6 INCHES MORE TO THE RIGHT????!!!!

SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!  UGH!

Re: DH VENT!!!!

  • DH and I have a problem with throwing clothes on our bathroom floor... We're trying to work on it!!

IDK what to say- no advice. But my stepdad used to work at a coal mine and we always made fun of his "eye-liner" LOL.

Maybe start throwing your clothes everywhere and he'll take the hint? Or quit doing his laundry... Passive aggressive works with men LOL

  • I asked in your earlier post, but it was from a few hours ago. Are you new to the Sept boards? I don't remember seeing you. If you are not, I apologize. If you are, write an intro so us girls can get to know you.

You know, one of the biggest fights that DH and I ever got in was over water on the sink. When DH washes his face, he splashes water all over the sink. I am talking puddles of water. It caused many spats. I didn't understand why he couldn't just wipe up the water. He didn't see what the big deal was, it was just water.

Then, at my cousins (and after a night of drinking), he washed his face and left puddles all over the sink. I flipped the funk out. Flipped out.

I have come to the realization that he just doesn't notice it. The rare ocassions that he does notice, he will clean it.

Women are just more detail-oriented and we will notice things like clothes on the floor, 6 inches away from the hamper. That being said, I agree that it is very annoying.

  • My DH does the same thing.  I don't get it either.  I have come to accept it and just pick up his clothes everyday and put them in the hamper.

  • I am new to the September board.  I used to hang out in the Second Trimester board but I like this one better.  I will post an intro!

The 2nd tri board can be rough. I sometimes think that drama over there is funny, but this is my home board. We are all pretty awesome over here, if I do say so myself.

  • Mine leaves laundry all over the house.  I have literally had to clear away dirty socks from the kitchen counter before.  GROSS  I think this is because thier mothers picked up all their laundry for them...so we all need to make sure we teach our boys to at least put laundry in the hamper or one day some woman will be posting about our boys on here.
  • Mine actually does the laundry half the time and is a far better folder than I am.  He does shake his hands off before drying them and sends water splattering all over walls and mirrors, which is a GIANT pet peeve of mine. I cannot stand dirty, streaky walls.  He knows I hate it but 98% of the time forgets and shakes his hands like a wet dog all over the place.  He's always very apologetic.

Maybe move the laundry basket 6 inches to the left and then the clothes will land in the basket.  Lol.  I'm sure it's not his aim that's off, but it might be worth a try.  Maybe if he trips over the laundry basket he'll realize it's there. :)

  • Have you thought about just explaining to him how much help it would be to you, being pregnant and all, if he could try to put his clothes in the laundry basket? Maybe he doesn't realize that it's causing you this much stress. Most DH's want to make their DW's happy but just don't think the same way we do.

  • My DH is pretty good about the laundry...but my KIDS?! UGH!! They have had 9 and 15 years of me b!tching at them about putting laundry in the hamper, and neither one of them can seem to manage it! Every night I make them come back in the bathroom and put it in the hamper, but they still never remember.
  • The only way I can break my DH out of an ongoing habit is to have a huge fight about it - and it usually helps if I cry.  He never does it again.  Other than that, the wisest advice I ever received from my mother RE: marriage was to pick my battles.  You can't win 'em all...and the stress gives you wrinkles. ;)

  • I think my dh is just as bad. Except he puts the dirty clothes on top of the laundry basket (it has a lid). Seriously!!! I am constantly amazed at how he cant lift a lid. So one day I put all his dirty clothes on his side of the bed. I guess he took the hint. Unfortunately, it only last about 2 weeksSad. Or how he can put a dirty cup on top of the fridge WTH! The sink is 2 inches away! And why on top of the fridge? I almost didn't even notice it up there.

This story is funny. I am usually the last to go to bed, so I tidy up. I lock the doors shut off all the lights. Clean up the toys. So one night he goes to bed last. I wake up around 2am lights still on, tv on, door wide open, toys scattered everywhere. UGHH. I woke him up and told him we no longer pay the night fairy to do the chores, so he needs to do it!

I guess they are in their own little worlds.
