clomid.. Qs?

hey ladies.. when we were at our f/u after our m/c our OB had tossed out the idea of using clomid for our cycles but didnt go into details about it.. so i did a slight bit of reading online(of course u know that gets you into trouble sometimes) so i was wondering if you had used it when you decided that was the way you wanted to go and did u have any results/side affects from it? i know this can partially go on the PGAL but i love to hear what everyone has to say... have a great day ladies and thank you!!

I have taken Clomid now for 7 cycles. I respond really well to it - I got pregnant my 2nd cycle, but that resulted in our loss. No luck since then, but we're also dealing with MFI. The only real side effects I get are hot flashes, but I take it at night so I think that helps with the side effects.

I've used it, had no side effects and a successful pregnancy. We were TTC DS for 15 months at the time and couldn't find a problem with either DH or me so we used clomid. 1st cycle, 1st ever BFP.

I took Clomid for 6 cycles in the past 2 years. I got pregnant twice while on it but miscarried both times. I didn't have any side effects from it but it helped me ovulate and regulated my cycle.

thanks for your insight girls! we have been TTC for 18 months with the last 4 months charting (2nd month charting BFP, then loss) i do have abnormal cycles so i cant decide if this is something we should start looking into more seriously.. after TTC for 18mos and a loss it makes u wonder if it will take that long again.. i guess thats why they have all those wonderful little feritility treatments out there.

I only used Clomid for one cycle because it did nothing for me. I didn't ovulate with it. Unfortunately, I had some bad side effects. It made me super emotional-just unbelievably depressed. I went on Femara next and got pregnant the first cycle (when i miscarried). I experienced no side effects with Femara and am going back on. Good luck!

I only used it twice. I had a cp the second time. But the only real side effect I had was crazy hot flashes.

I took Clomid for many cycles. My doctor prescribed it because I was not ovulating. By looking at my charts, it appears to have done its job. However, I had all sorts of side effects including, but not limited to: dizziness, hot flashes, mood swings, acne, pregnancy symptoms (without being pregnant), a huge cyst on my ovary, and visual disturbances.

Despite all of that, if my doctor thinks I should try Clomid again, I will.

ETA: I also had little-to-no CM. I will be using estrogen at the same time as Clomid, should I have to take it again, to prevent this problem.

I used clomid 2 cycles. I got bad O pains and hot flashes, but i got a bfp. I plan on using it again when AF comes. GL.

This is my first cycle using it. No side effects. I haven't had my dominant follicle scan to know if it's worked. I can let you know on Wednesday!

I took Clomid for 5 cycles. It caused hot flashes (usually at night), a low sex drive, and crazy mood swings. I did it because my OB almost guaranteed we'd be pregnant within 6 months...ha....ha....

I know some ladies on here have had success in the past, but make sure you're monitored while you're taking it!

Siggy warning

I convinced my OB to let me try Clomid after 7 months of TTCAL and 12 months total of TTC. At first he was hesitant b/c I did ovulate, but I ovulated pretty late. I was concerned about egg quality. My first cycle on 50 mg was successful. I had minimal side effects--some hot flashes and a small amount of insomnia.

I did one cycle, which resulted in my bfp/mc. I'm going to try it again this next cycle. I have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own usually, so I'm also on metformin (and this month, DID O on just the met!) I didn't have any side effects, and actually, the cycle I was on it was the only one I'm 100% sure I had EWCM.

Good luck, and make sure you get monitored. That's my only advice!

This is my second cycle on Clomid. The first resulted in my PG with our twins. I don't know the results of this cycle yet. I am on it because I have PCOS and my ovulation is really irregular, which makes timing really hard. I seem to respond well to it. Side effects wise, the higher the dose, the worse the side effects. I have been on 50 mg both times and it hasn't been too bad. I take it before I go to bed to minimize them, but primarily I have had a few hot flashes (which will affect temps) and some irritability. Other than that, I haven't noticed a whole lot.

If you do decide to go the Clomid route, make sure that you are being monitored. Any ovulatory stimulant can cause ovarian torsion (corrected by surgery) and you will also need to make sure that you don't get hyperstimulated or that your lining is not thinned out as a result of the drug. I took Clomid for 5 cycles . . . the 1st 2 cycles I responded to the meds then for whatever reason the last cycle nothing so it was increased from 50 to 100mg and that is when I recieved my 1st BFP but unfortunately I m/c. This month I will be starting it again for the 1st time since the m/c (November was the last time I took Clomid) but my doc is starting me out at 50 again and hopefully I get a response.

I never noticed any side effects really. Even when the med was increasesed still nothing but as some have mentioned I too took the Clomid in the evening before bed.

thanks for all your advice girls! im still so up in the air on if i should do it or not... my OB gave me the option but wasnt forcing me or anything... so i got some thinking to do.. hope u ladies have a wonderful week and BFPs to go all around
