TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Dumb question inside

I just picked up the prescription for the antibiotics that I am suppose to take for after the ER.  Well there are warnings all over it that say "Don't take if Pregnant", I know I am not pregnant, but all these drugs are suppose to help me get pregnant, so why would the antibiotic say "Don't take if Pregnant" if it is used to help you get pregnant?

  • I had docycycline also. I think it's pretty standard and I think I only took it 2-3 days after the transfer so it wasn't really in your system after implantation. Does that makes sense? And no stupid questions!!!
  • They're perfectly OK. You're not pregnant at that point, so you're good to go!

  • Doxy is the usual antibiotic prescribed for IVF. No worries.
  • I was always given doxy also, my patches I was on for my fet cycles also said not to use while pg, but the RE keeps you on them for the first trimester.

  • Not at all a dumb question, the "Don't take if pregnant" is a much stronger statement than the usual "Check with your Doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding" that they slap on just about everything.  But, it's the normal meds for this stage from what I understand.

  • Doxy is pretty standard.  I had to take it for 10 days during stims and another 10 days after ET.  There are so many meds that say not to take when pregnant.  Doesn't make much sense.  Who knows.

This exactly.  I took it for both of my cycles.

  • I had doxc after my IUIs also - I'd ask your RE to be on safe side, but am guessing these are normal warnings.
