when they try to tell me that Cal doesn't sleep because my breastmilk has no nutrients.

This was an exact quote from my DH's grandma yesterday. She and his aunt also say we spoil him because we go in his room and pick him up at night when he is hungry to feed him. 
They are wise, wise women I tell you. Because that half of container of green beans he eats definitely has more calories to fill him up than BM or formula.

Unsolicited advice is certainly annoying.
You have a 4-year-old though, haven't you been through this already? I've found it so much easier to laugh off the crazies this time around.

LOL. Most of the time I do. I didn't BF my first DS, and he was a totally different baby. He slept through the night by 3-4 months old, was always happy, basically the opposite of DS2.
I think I tend to take it hard when they comment about the BFing because I bust my a$$ to make it happen, and I feel insulted when thay say he isn't doing the same things as DS1 because of it.
Typing out just now actually made me laugh. I think I spent too much time with them yesterday. I need a cold one after a day with these people.
LOL, well that makes sense then. I know with my first any criticism got to me because I was second guessing myself as well, but with my second I have confidence so I just laugh at the stupid comment. If you're BFing for the first time then it's a whole new and different experience. I'm sorry they're being obnoxious old nags.

Awww, I like old people! But yeah, stupid. And it's amazing how much the stupid carries on through the generations too. You'd think that with all the information available out there now that people would learn and stop listening to ridiculous "advice" however well-meaning it is.
I can sort-of forgive the elderly though as they didn't have all the research and studies available that we do and are only going on their own experiences. But still, I suppose that even if you did show them evidence against their ideas they would still balk at it.
