Evening ladies!
I'm pretty petite about 5'0 on a good day and I'm pregnant with twins. I'm very worried that my body won't be able to handle two babies at once and something could go wrong.
I have an appointment with my new ob on the 21st, I'm ad navy and they consider twins higher risk so they sent my care back to Balboa. While I will definetly be mentioning my concerns to my new ob I just wanted to see if any other ladies were currently in or have been in my position. I had a miscarriage a year ago this month and just worry (constantly) that something could happen to my babies.
Oh and I'm sick of EVERYBODY telling me how big I'm going to get and how I won't be able to give birth naturally... ugh everybody is a freaking doctor.
Thanks so much ladies!

I have a pretty small pelvic frame and that's what worries me the most. But I'm definetly getting some aching from that area so I'm guessing my body is adjusting like it should be.
And yes everybody has an opinion, a coworker who just had a baby asked me the other day if my babies were 'natural'
But she's not exactly the brightest bulb on the tree...
That gives me hope! And your boys are absolutly adorable!
I'm 5'3 and while I"m not skinny, I've got a petite frame. I carried my babies to 37w 1d, the date of my scheduled c-section and had healthy babies and zero complications. I asked my doctor if my height or size had anything to do with how long I'd carry them and she said she didn't think so at all.
GL!
I'm 5'2" and only made it to 29w6d, but there were a lot of factors involved in my early delivery, and my height had nothing to do with it.
That said, I was pretty damn big by 29 weeks, and I only delivered 5 lbs 4 oz total worth of baby. I was uncomfortable, but I could still walk.
Everybody is different. Take good care of yourself and rest when you need to. Good luck!
I'm 4'10'' and carried twins to 36w0d. While I did have PTL issues and a shortened cervix, my OB said that she didn't really ascribe the issues I had to my height. I was all belly and struggled to gain 35 lbs, but my LOs were healthy and were discharged from the hospital when I was. Today they're happy, healthy 2 year olds!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
Thank you!! I forgot to say that my boys were 4.8 and 4.9 lbs so they were still pretty good size for being so early so you can definitely carry good sized babies too (like a lot of PP's seem to have). Like all the PP's have said, you can do it - size doesn't always matter!
I am 5'0 and at 38 weeks. It is possible. These babies don't want to come out.
I am barely 5'2". I carried my twins to 36w3d and had a vaginal delivery. They were 4lbs. 15oz. and 4lbs. 14oz. From week 33 on, I was pretty miserable because almost everything hurt and baby A was sitting so low, she felt like she was in my knee
. You will need to take it easy towards the end because you will get exhausted very easily. I felt it a lot in my knees the last month or so. Swimming helps to stretch your legs out while taking the weight off your body. So I highly recommend the pool in your last trimester.
Oh and on a fun note the day before I delivered at 36w2d, I measured at 48 weeks pregnant. So that gives you an idea of how big I was. You will most likely start measuring about 8-10 weeks ahead once you hit 24 weeks.
My coworker's wife is not even 5' tall, definitely weighs under 100 lbs (soaking wet) and is currently 33 weeks along with twins. She's doing awesome, no major PTL issues, and will probably make it a few more weeks at least.
Heck, I know there are triplet moms that small, so you can do it!

My blog * We made the national news!
I'm just shy of 5'2" and carried my boys to my scheduled c-section at 37 weeks. They weighed 5 lbs 10 oz and 5 lbs 13 oz and required no NICU time. No, it wasn't particularly fun, especially those last 10 weeks, but it can be done!
Good luck!
Congrats on the twins!
Im 5'1" and weighted 145 before pregnancy so not super tiny but ill tell you my experience so far. Im almost 22 weeks and im uncomfy but i was expecting that. Im not too the point where i cant function but i do have awful sciatica which has been a huge PIA (literally). Im much more active this pregnancy then i was with my DS.
I am pretty big and my wonderful sister told me yesterday i look even big for having twins! (isnt she nice!).
I have a blog with belly pics if your interested.

They say most hit a wall at 28 weeks. And im pretty sure that wall is going to happen to me a tad sooner.
GL to you
Oh and i work postpartum and i have taken care of numerous women our height with twins and they did great!
I'm 5'4" & 100 pounds. I carried triplets to a scheduled c-section at 35 weeks, 6 days. They weighed 5.3, 4.13 and 4.13. No PTL.
I too had concerns about my size. My MFM told me that my body would make room. My tummy measured 4 feet around the night before my c-section.
Did you just find out you were having twins? You're one day ahead of me...I don't recall a twin post on the Oct board but then again I don't check it on the weekends. CONGRATS! I love that there are others so close to my EDD, we can be in this together!!
I'm pretty average - 5-4 ish, but short in the torso. Honestly, your ability to deliver has more to do with your bone structure than anything else. I remember my first internal with my son where the midwife checked my pubic bone structure by running her fingers along each side of my pelvis. THE MOST INVASIVE exam ever, so painful, but she was able to confirm that I didn't have any funny dips or strange bone structure that would prevent me from delivering vaginally. Luckily we know this information now so I shouldn't ever have to have an exam like that again LOL
You can do it!
I am 5"1. I delivered the babies via a C-section at 38w2d. They weighed 7lbs 14oz and 7lbs 1 oz.
Don't worry!
I am 5'0 also, carried to 36 weeks (the last 10 were on the couch but not related to my height!), twins were 5.6 and 5.12. I had a c-section based more on their positioning and the fact that I had no dilation, no contractions, etc after my water broke & we just decided it would be safest for everyone. However, I never had my heart set on a vaginal delivery & suspected all along I'd have a section & was fine w/ that.
I gained about 50 lbs (was & am normal weight) with 5 of those pounds in the last week from fluid. My fundus measured about 48 at the end I think, so I was big but even when I had my shower at 25 weeks, people kept commenting on how they thought i'd be so much bigger, etc so I think people have this vision of enormity or something. I have a friend who had 2 singleton pregnancies & seriously looked bigger w/ both than most ppl I know who had multiples so you never know.
GL!
I'm about 5'3'' and usually weight in the 117lb range.
Did I get HUGE with twins? It was unreal, actually!
But my body handled it just fine. I was uncomfortable, of course, but it was well worth it!
It's really amazing what your body is capable of. I was going through old pictures on the computer and couldn't get over what had happened to me. (in a good way)
