(sorry for the repeat post from the nestie board)
Hi everyone! We had our 1st ultrasound today at 7 weeks, and thank
goodness there's a heartbeat! We've been TTC since 2008, and after treatments with a reproductive endocrinologist, we were told today we could finally "graduate" back to a OBGYN.
We'll have another ultrasound in 3 weeks, and I'm currently looking for an OBGYN through St. Joe's in Ann Arbor. I originally was going to deliver through Providence in Novi, but TG I have a new insurance now and can go through SJMH. (Nothing against Providence Novi, I actually love their hospital, but SJMH is seriously 15 minutes from my house!)
Anyway, I've been thinking of seeing Dr. Hrozencik through IHA in Canton. I also read good reviews of IHA Arbor Park in Ypsilanti.
Does anyone have any OBGYN recs that deliver at St. Joe's?
Did you/do you know anyone who delivered at St. Joe's? How was your/their experience?
TIA!!!!!

HI and congratulations! Dr. Hrozencik is my doctor and I can't say enough great things about her and the office. She was really nice and spent a lot of time answering all of our questions.
I also delivered at St. Joe's and again we had a great experience. The nurses were all great and the whole labor and delivery area is new.
I delivered through St. Joes AA twice and LOVE my OB practice. I've met everybody in it and would have loved anybody who delivered me. I had a great experience both times. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Here is my practice:

I also had an AMAZING experience there. They adhered to my birth plan and felt they really believed in it. They have several LCs and some are better than others. I took a lot of classes and have been involved in many newborn and breastfeeding groups post baby. They education program is great. I felt very prepared for birth and the newborn experience.
Good luck and congrats!!!!
Also, and I don't want this to spoil my recommendation, but I work there. I know several nurses in L & D now (I didn't before delivery) and they truly love their job.
I cannot say enough about SJMH. As a nurse, I am very uneasy as a patient and I was blown away by how caring and knowledgable every person who walked in my room was. I wrote them a 2 page letter when I got hom because I was so impressed.
I also use an IHA doctor. I actually saw a midwife at the Ann Arbor office, but I really was impressed by their whole staff. While I was in the hospital, both doctor's and my midwife were there at some point, checking on me. My L&D did not follow my birth plan at all, but I always felt cared for, respected and at ease. The entire staff at SJMH did everything they could to avoid rushing me to a c-section (and it worked)!
I delivered at SJAA in December and can't say enough good things about it. I got severe HELLP Syndrome and was very very sick and the nursing staff was absolutely amazing there. They made me laugh, snuck me juice and snuck me to see my little man in the NICU when it had been 3 days post delivery and the docs wouldn't let me. They're wonderful, wonderful. The rooms are nice; private bathrooms, blanket warmers, nice televisions, individual temperature control.
My OBGYN was Dr. Eaton-MacFarland at IHA Canton. Her whole office is WONDERFUL, including Dr. Hrozencik. I was at the hospital for 11 days so I saw all the docs on call and they're all magnificent. My life was literally in jeopardy and I wouldn't have trusted another practice to take such good care of me.
And, god forbid, you need the NICU services, SJAA is where you want to be. They're so amazing at what they do, I would never have a baby anywhere else. My son was born at 29 weeks so we were in the NICU for 9 1/2 weeks. The staff because like family and the whole staff at the hospital just seems to care so much!!
Cant say enough good things about IHA and SJAA!!!
