I also prefer Aidan. Aiden appears to be more common but I can't help but think it's misspelled when I see it. (So does my browser, for what that's worth - it's underlining Aiden but not Aidan.) Aidan is a good old saint's name; Aiden is trying to fit in with Brayden, Caden, and Jayden.
That said, I agree with PP who said that you should give him a more unique middle name if you're going with a popular first name. And I like middle names that honor beloved family members or friends. So I support your DH's choices, especially Spencer, which flows nicely with Aidan or Aiden or however you choose to spell it.

I ditto what pp's have said about preferring the Aidan spelling.
FYI: the Aiden spelling is how the character from Sex in the City spelled it who I believe was named after a porn star, Aiden Shaw, thanks to the writers of the show. So whenever I see the Aiden spelling this is what it reminds me of.
Aidan Spencer is my favorite. Since you are going with a super trendy fn, using a family name that has meaning to your DH and his family seems to make the name a bit more unique and personal.
Also, Aidan Noah just sounds weird to me. Say it out loud, fast. The two "n" sounds of Aidan and Noah run together.

I like Aidan Spencer too. I'm a big fan of names that mean something. Aidan Noah's not too bad, but I agree that there's too much concentrated popularity in that name. Aidan Jack just doesn't seem to flow properly, and Jack's super popular right now too.
Re: Middle name for Aiden
I like it spelled -an not -en. I think that's the traditional spelling -an.
Aidan James
Aidan Thomas
Aidan Patrick
Aidan Michael
Aidan Joseph
