I have a cheap thermometer that can be used under the tongue or under baby's arms, but I'm debating buying a more expensive one that does in the ear or rectal temp readings. For those of you who are already mamas - what do you all recommend?
At our child safety class they told us a standard thermometer under the arm does just fine. We were given one that you can either put against the forhead or in the ear. We like it for ourselves already!
We have a really nice ear thermometer that bought to use on DS, but it has never been accurate at all on his little ears. We also have a cheaper digital one that can go under the arm, or rectally. I always use it rectally, because it's just the most accurate.

This. I've tried other methods but never got an accurate reading.
I purchased this thermometer recently because it was on sale for half price and i had a coupon so it came out relatively cheap. I haven't used it yet but it's gotten good reviews regarding accuracy. I also like that i can get a quick read while DS or baby is sleeping without waking them.

The expensive ear/forehead ones generally aren't accurate enough.
We've got a quick-read digital that can go where ever we want to put it. It was only about $15.

I have used this digital rectal thermometer with my son for 3 years and it's accurate and quick. It's also only 12.99.
