6 week Dr. Appt for both of us!

We both had our check-ups today and they went really well!  I've lost 30lbs! WOO-HOO!! Go me! Everything has healed and we were prescribed BC.....condoms! LOL.  I better go get an economy pack at Sam's!!

LO had his check up too.  He is a healthy growing boy!  He weighs 11 lbs 10 oz and is 23". (Birth: 8lbs 3oz and 21").  The Dr. confirmed my suspicions of him having reflux and prescribed Zantac, he said it should help his fussing and hiccups as well as all the spitting up. His jaundice is still present but he called it breastfeeding jaundice and wasn't concerned.  Oh, and my poor little guy got his shots today too :( The Dr. said he could give them as early as 6 weeks and wanted to save us some money so we didn't have to go back for another visit and copay. Thanks Dr!

I'm glad everything went well, but I'm also sad because it means I go back to work on Monday.  I've been crying everyday this week.  Just the thought of leaving him all day makes me so sad.  I know it will get better and they say the 1st week is the worst.  I just hope that first week goes fast!

 Have a good weekend everyone!

  • We confirmed reflux for both of my girls too.  We are going to try a few other things before we do the zantac though. I hope it works, the spitting and the hiccups are frustrating!!!

  • I had suspected he had reflux because of the constant spitting up so I had been keeping him upright for at least 20 mins after he eats.  No such luck, he still spits up after 2 hours after he eats.  The Dr said it should help with his fussiness too.  I'm hoping.  My uncle said that when his son was diagnosed with reflux and he started the medication, he was like a different baby.  I sure hope this helps!  Good luck with your girls, they are so precious!

What are you trying before the zantac?

  • i think my lo may have reflux as well. although the excessive spit up does not seem to bother him at all, its like hes unaware of it, the upright thing doesnt work for us either. did your lo seem bothered by it? and how does the dr determine that it is reflux? just by the symptoms?
