side by side double stroller - compatible w/ Chicco carseat?

Hi, I am 27 wks pregnant with one baby, and have a 17 month old, so I am looking for a double stroller....I have a Chicco carseat - so I  would need a double stroller that is compatible with that - I am thinking a side by side, so that I can use it when both girls are older...any suggestions?  I was leaning towards the Combi Sport - but I just learned that isn't compatible with my carseat, only the Combi seat....My friend who is a mom of twins suggested I post here - since you ladies are the experts on double strollers?  (my friend has been very helpful also, and she recommended the City Mini - which I am also thinking of, only the carseat adapter is $100).

Any advice anyone has would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  • I think the BOB double jogger can hold a car seat if you buy the car seat attachment.  It is a really expensive stroller ($600) ish...but worth every penny.  We not only use it to run, but we also use it for most of our day to day adventures.  It fits through the door of any store or restaurant.   The other we have is the Kolcraft Contours.  It is front/back, not side by side.  You can also do 1 carseat and one big kid seat in there too.  Good Luck!

  • There isn't one to my knowledge. The BOB dualie can only convert to hold 1 car seat and the other is for an older child- I'm pretty sure you can convert both seats. Just out of curiosity why do you want a side by side instead of a front and back configuration?

  • Thanks - I think I am going to go with the City Mini - and the Chicco adapter - I'll keep checking Craigs list for a used one...I am leaning towards a side by side instead of a tandem because I figure once baby # 2 is out of the carseat, I will get more use out of a side by side - being able to put both kids facing forward.  It also seems to me that it is more manageable to maneuver, just from trying friends who have both - that's just my opinion - I would like this to be the last investment in a stroller, and worry that if I get a Tandem it won't work once both kids are a little bigger...
