I remember when I was pg, I was soooo excited when V-day came b/c it meant DD would have a chance. I think knowing what I know now about the outcomes for babies at 24 weeks, I'm almost more scared to hit 24 weeks. I can't imagine having to deliver a baby that early and all the complications that come with it. I think I'll be more likely to breathe a sigh of relief when we hit 28-30 weeks, than at 24 weeks. Anyone else feel the same?
Also, DD has the stomach bug. AGAIN. I'm pretty sure if I catch it again after having had it less than 2 weeks ago, I might just die. Poor baby looks just awful ![]()
Re: 2nd time mommies: V-day
For me hitting 24w and not being in the hospital will be awesome, but I'll never look at 24 weeks as a great milestone. My big sigh will come at 29w5 days. Only 7 weeks to go!!
Sorry DD is sick

I felt the same way.I almost delivered Andrew at 24, and didn't until 26, and it was so hard.
People would ask when I hit 24 weeks with this pregnancy "are you relieved now?". Relieved?! what?! No. I'm terrified. Weeks 23-25 were the hardest for me. I did not want my baby to have to suffer.
My first milestone is 30 weeks...then 34, then 37!
With my first pregnancy it was a huge sigh of relief. This time around I had many more smaller targets. Yes, my V-Day being on Christmas I tried to enjoy it. Then I celebrated 30 weeks, and 34w5d (DD's delivery date). Then 36 (our initial target for this pregnancy), 37 weeks (technical full term) and in 4 days I will be celebrating hitting 40 weeks!
I think it's important to have lots of dates to look forward to and to celebrate every small milestone in LOs development (I allowed myself to buy something for LO on each target as a little reward for all my hard work keeping them in there!). I don't think you have to breathe a sigh of relief, but I do think you should enjoy passing another milestone. Stay positive (I know it's hard when there's so much worry underneath it all) and know that you can get excited about your pregnancy progressing normally- you won't jinx it.
I've been wondering about you lately! Glad to see you're doing well and baby's still cooking
You are soooooooooo close!
Thanks. We really are getting so close. Every day since DD's delivery date has dragged. We worked so hard to keep LO in there and now that they can come out at any time we're talking about having to INDUCE (!?!?!) on the 20th! It just goes to show you that with a little extra attention, some extra rest and a lot of support you can hang in there to the bitter end!
with DS we had been having problems since 20w, so 24w was huge for me.
with this baby, there have been all sorts smaller milestones - 12/13w, 24w, 30w, 32w6d, and honestly, every week since then feels like a party in my uterus.
