How are you feeling? I had mine 3 weeks ago today. I still take a tylenol occasionally. I don't feel any real pain on incision but my abs(?) right above the incision still feel sensitive to touch and kind of tingly. Just wondering how long this lasts. Are you still bleeding vaginally? i thought i was almost done then it got brighter red again today. I tried pushing her for 3.5 hours before i was told i had to have a c section so i don't know if that has anything to do with it. I'm just tired of having to wear pads.
Re: c section moms
I had my c-section three weeks ago today too. Happy 3-Week Birthday to our babies!
I still take tylenol occasionally as well. I'm also on antibiotics because yesterday I noticed a green discharge after peeing. As far as my incision and other pain, I'm feeling pretty good. My incision looked a little yucky for awhile, but it has been looking much better the past few days. I am still bleeding, but only after a bowel movement usually, and it only comes out on the toilet paper. I don't have to wear a pad anymore.
this for me- i also have a lot of tenderness to the left of my belly button. i'm still wearing a binder most of the time. i see my doc on monday - im a little worried it's too much pain bc i feel crappy... i'm 4 weeks pp with a c and no pushing (breech too)
I had staples, but my doc only did them because Imam allergic to stitches.
I had mine 7 weeks ago (was induced and tried pushing but baby couldn't fit). I definitely feel it if I move too fast, but I am back to my normal activities. I never thought I would feel normal again, lol! I didn't drive until after 4 weeks. I can't imagine driving after 2 weeks! I was still in pain and still had trouble getting in and out of the car. I drive a manual, so even the first day I drove I felt it when I shifted.
Another reason I waited so long to drive was because 2.5 weeks after Zoe was born I was having really bad tooth pain on a tooth they did a root canal on the week I found out I was pg. They missed a root that was really small and high up, and I started having pain. They cut through my gum to get the root out and I had 6 stitches put in. That hurt worse than my c section! I was taking percocet for 3 weeks straight.
i am 6 weeks out and very thankfully feeling pretty good/normal. i had a repeat, and actually i'm very lucky because i've healed well after all of them.
i JUST stopped bleeding like 3 days ago, but dr. said it's normal to bleed for much longer. so stick with it ladies, it WILL stop soon!
i did have some bad pain actually in the skin/muscles above my belly button on either side, with it more severe on my left. of course, my OB said it wasn't normal but i read on line that other women suffered with it. it would get numb and tingly and very painfull. i figured it was just my skin getting back to normal after stretching so much. it was weird too, because i didn't experience the RLP with this pregnancy like i did with my previous ones.
every once and a while, i will still get a small pain while peeing from having the catheter in. sure wish that one would stop!
oh, and i had disolving staples with the incision held together with steri strips. it is still numb, but that will last for a LONG time!
I am 3w3d pp. I wasn't in labour (and didn't do any pushing, obviously). I have been done bleeding for several days, but had some fresh bleeding last night - probably from overdoing it again. My incision has healed really well - I had dissolvable stitches. My abdomen isn't 'tender', but achy and crampy and tight/stiff feeling. I think it is my abdominal muscles getting back in shape. Also, I have had a lot of feeling return (my incision isn't nearly as numb as it was), so maybe I am just feeling things I didn't feel in the first place (like my ute contracting still?). My back gets sore very easily from my abs being out of commission, but that's getting better too. I started weaning the drugs after 1 week and was completely off them after 2 weeks except for the occassional tylenol at the end of the day.

I am in the same exact position as you! I pushed for over 3 hours before they told me it was surgery time. My incision doesn't hurt but my belly is super tender above the incision - I think pushing for so long adds to the extended soreness. I was in labor for 23 hours, too, so my ute did a lot of work before the surgery! The incision area is still numb and tingly and my OB told me it would take up to a year for all normal feeling to come back to the area as the nerves regrow.
I'm finally sleeping comfortably, which is awesome. It took me at least two weeks to be able to sleep without that awful pulling feeling that made me feel like the incision was going to split open. I still can't wear normal pants because of the belly soreness and have a hard time getting up from laying down, but it's all getting better by the day. I'm still bleeding lightly and was told it could last up to 6 weeks.
Hope all the other c/s moms continue to recover well!
I'm 3w4d PP and am feeling pretty good. I had a c-section after laboring for 14 hours after being induced. I pushed for 1.5 hours, but LO wasn't moving down. I had a temp of 102.5 and her heart rate was pretty high. I had staples.
I stopped taking my vicodin during the 2nd week and I haven't had any motrin in about a week. I was wearing my binder everyday until 3 days ago. My skin underneath was getting so dry and itchy. I'll wear it when I have to go somewhere though. My tummy is tingly right above the incision and I still have steristrips over my incision.
