Why is it getting HARDER!?

This last week I don't know what is up with Remy. He just keeps getting crankier and crankier and now getting him down to bed is even HARDER then it has been. Please just go to sleep little man.... ):

Re: Why is it getting HARDER!?

  • I feel your pain - DD has been the same way.  Cranky as all get out at night and when she used to take her last bottle and fall right to sleep now it takes her another hour or so to finally conk out.  I have no idea what is going on but I suspect teething.

  • I am hoping a growth spurt or teething or something like that and it will be gone sooner then later because he has gone from being asleep within 5 minutes of being put in his bed, to screaming for at LEAST 30 minutes. Which I know isn't horrible, but it's a long time for him. Especially when I am normally exhausted by bedtime myself.

Not to mention he's doing this whole "whiney, whimpery, cranky" business during the day too. Which he has NEVER DONE BEFORE.

  • We went through the same thing for about a week. It was a terrible week. I barely got any sleep, she was up every 25-45 minutes all throughout the night, whined ALL DAY LONG. She was just very unhappy. Then the next week, we were back to normal. Now she can clap, and does some cruising, and will stand for about 10-20 seconds by herself. This all came about after The Week From Hell.

  • Have you tried putting him to bed earlier?  Joy went through the same thing and having her go to bed an hour earlier did WONDERS for my sanity.

And please forgive me....but that's what she said :)

  • It is the same here!! We have been having really rough nights. They have never once slept through the night but now they get up and takes forever for them to get back to sleep. They are cranky a lot during the day also. I'm hoping it is teething and that this won't last too long!

Earlier bedtime also worked for us too. I start getting her to bed around 8. 8:30 we're doing the bottle and she's on her way to sleep. Before it was 9:30-10 she'd be getting to sleep.

Put him to bed earlier and he wakes up 2-3 times a night.

I think we're going through this. Every time I try to put her to bed she wakes up screaming and by the time I get in there she has scooted to the corner of her crib and is rocking, trying her hardest to crawl. I hope it stops when she learns to crawl. She usually goes to bed around 7:30ish and lately I haven't been able to get her down before 9.

Damn.  You might just have to choose the lesser of two evils then....crying/fighting sleep or not STTN.  I hope it all passes soon and you both get some rest.
