I think my FIL is deaf.

    Mine too - and still manages to fall asleep while watching it.  I couldn't live in their house, though.  It's very old and the walls are plaster.  Sound travels through the house so much, you can hear EVERYTHING upstairs, there is no buffer from the noise.  I hate sleeping there, I sleep about 2 hours a night.
