Thoughts on these Saint Paul Childcare Centers?

Hi,

I'm touring these four over the next week or so:

Saint Paul's Childhood Center (near Victoria Crossing)

MacDonald Montessori

Close to Home Child Center (on Grand Ave)

Sandcastle (near W 7th)

I also have inquiries into St. Thomas' center (long waiting list) and Concordia.

Any thoughts on the above, raves/rants? Other centers to consider?

Thanks!

  • We interviewed at Sandcastle and we didn't like it.  But everyone is different as far as what they are looking for.  The tuition was about $40 less a week than what we are paying at our current place and they also included formula and food I think, but I can't remember.  But we ultimately decided to go with the peace of mind of what we were comfortable with and sent her to the place she is going to now.  I think I looked into MacDonald Montessori.  I live on the border of St. Paul/Maplewood so DD goes to a center in Maplewood but Sandcastle would have also been on my way to work so that's why we looked into that one.

  • Thanks for your response! Was there something specific you didn't like, or was it more of a gut feeling? We are new to all of this, and it can feel overwhelming.

It was just a gut feeling.  We had already secured our daycare at the place DD is at but wanted to check out a few other places just in case because of cost savings etc. but in the end the peace of mind was worth more than any savings.  You might get another feelings so don't take my word and not check it out.  The place is not bad it just wasn't for us.
