2nd pregnancy - uncomfortable already??

I try not to complain, but I am only 16 weeks pregnant, and I'm already starting to feel uncomfortable.  I feel soo much pressure on my pelvis that it almost feels like contractions.  I hope it is just the current position of the baby and not a permanent thing.

Also, ladies - get your core in shape before you get pregnant again!  I actually thought I did, but my gosh my back kills me every single night.  

I think I'm going to start going to prenatal yoga... did it help anyone else?

  • i had a very painful, very uncomfortable 2nd pregnancy :(  a lot of mine had to do with scar tissue from my 1st c/s.   and when i was 16 weeks i looked at least 20 weeks, probably more. :)

    I hope baby moves and you feel better soon and for as long as possible!  It's hard being pregnant and chasing a 2 year old!

  • My back hurt me so much more with pregnancy #2.  My doctor gave me a list of stretches to do and they really helped.  Ask your doctor about stretching.

  • The class that did wonders for me was water aerobics.  Took the pressure off the pelvis and helped the lower back.  So if you have that option try that out.
  • Yep, my second pregnancy sucked.  My OB also said I'd be starting to feel everything about a month earlier than my first and she was right.  Noah completely ruined my sciatic nerve and also sat on my pelvis from week 16 throughout the rest of the pregnancy.  I have absolutely no ideas to help because nothing helped me.  I hope you can find something to give you some relief!

    Water Aerobics are so great when you are pg.  I did them with Alec and they completely helped all the swelling in my legs.  I didn't do them with Aerin because she was a winter baby---but I wish I had when my back was killing.

  • I was DYING with my second.  I couldn't breathe and the pressure was insane on my back and pelvis. 

    Rest.  

    Also, Lisa teaches pre-natal yoga, if you're interested in taking a class.  

  • Oh hunny, get ready. #2 was so much harder than #1. Doc told me that it's bc all those muscles were stretched the from the first time. My back pain was way worse this time much earlier. Seemed like all of it was just more intense this time. Also the last few weeks were really intense for me. Lots more pain and fatigue. I really wasn't able to go in the office much at all. Just sitting at my desk was too much.

  • My second was so much harder!  I felt huge and very heavy all the time.  When you already have a 2 year old it is much harder to get the rest you need!

  • Yep, 2nd pregnancy was definitely worse. I felt so much pressure and had a hard time walking around. I was pretty useless and laid around a lot to help ease my back pain.

  • My 2nd pg was way more uncomfortable.  I did yoga and water aerobics for exercise and stretching.  Water aerobics were great in the hot hot summer.

  • Thanks ladies.  Like I said, I hate to complain, and in all honesty it's not unbearable or anything, but I was just surprised how early it's started this time.  And yeah, chasing after a crazy and active 2 year old certainly doesn't help :-)

    I think I'm going to try water aerobics though.  I just checked, and my gym has a class almost every day - yay1
