Welcome! I read your story and I am sorry that your daughter didn't get the birth experience you imagined for her. I can relate- my DS was supposed to be a birth center birth but I was transferred to the hospital when his heartrate dropped extremely low and we could not get it back up. Ultimately, he was taken via CS. Over 10 lbs and turned in an unfavorable position while being jammed up against his cord.
This was my FIRST birth, so I had a very real fear that I'd never be able to experience the birth I had imagined. My birth center does not do VBACs. I ultimately delivered my DD via VBAC in a hospital with a midwife. I did not hold too many hard feelings toward my DS's birth. I was disappointed but felt it was the right thing to do. VBACing my next birth was very healing, though.
You are a great candidate for an HBAC, so I am sure you will get your wish!
Wow, that is some story. I can imagine it was hard to go through all you did. I hope you're able to be kind to yourself. You did an amazing job trying to get your daughter out the way you planned. It didn't work as it had the past 2 times, but the good news is that you know you can have a vaginal birth because you've done it before. So hopefully #4 will go more smoothly, physically and emotionally.
Thanks for sharing your story. I agree it's cathartic and helps us move toward our hopes, while letting go of the things we can about past experience. (when I say letting go, I really don't mean forgetting upsetting things or "just being happy" --- I'm still working on letting go myself, it's a process for me but I have made lots of progress).
Welcome to the board! My c/s was also for an OP baby and a stalled second stage. It's so frustrating to get that far and end up in the OR, Hopefully we can both have wonderful VBACs.
Good luck with your HBAC!
