I need some easy on the go breakfast ideas

We leave so early in the mornings that we just take Gavin's breakfast with him to school and he eats it there or in the car.  The child is troubled and doesn't like pop tarts or else that would be my standard ;-).  We need something that's not too messy.  I usually send some mini muffins and a banana but I'd like to have a couple other options for him.  I also send cereal sometimes and he loves it, but its messy and I prefer to send stuff he can just eat with his hands and not have to send tupperware that they have to wash and remember to send home.  He's not a big fan of bagels so that one is out.  Prefer something that we can make ahead of time or pre-packaged b/c we have no time to even heat something up in the morning.  Give me some other ideas?

  • pancakes and waffles are not messy if you don't put something on them.  My kids live the nutrigrain blueberry flavor.  blueberries and grapes are back in season and easy to put in a zip lock bag.

Oh and Buddy fruits.  You can get those at Publix and now my Walmart sells them too for cheaper.  Easy and mess free!  Walmart sells the gummy bear version as well. and of course I bought a ton of those and my son won't touch them.

  • You can do a whole wheat english muffin with turkey sausage.

Scrambled eggs and toast (make eggs ahead of time)

    Oatmeal with blueberries

Vitamuffins or make Fiber 1 muffins

I second the Buddy Fruits.  The only fruit my child will eat are bananas (sometimes madarine oranges) if they are not pureed (and he won't let me feed him).  So Buddy Fruits have been a big hit.  Walmart has them for cheaper .88 where Publix has them for 5 for $5.

Does he like granola bars?  You can make those pretty easily to control what goes in them.

  • We usually do dried cereal, granola, or pancakes on school mornings we're running behind.
