Is anyone else having this issue? I read online that it is due to the tear ducts not being totally formed... also that breast milk in the eye helps, I have tried it a few times... I hate to see my babies eye all yucky- if this has happened to your baby, how long did it last- we have a dr.s appt. soon, I hope it goes away before that.
Re: baby has watery/gunky/crusty eye???
This is what our pedi told us to do, and it's worked well for DS's clogged tear duct.
Ben has had this from day one. It comes and goes. Our pedi said not to worry unless the whites of his eyes change color (that would indicate infection).
Clogged tear ducts can take up to a year to open before it is a concern.
