Re: What did/do you use for ms?

  • The sea bands did not work at all for me.  I used Zofran up until 16 weeks with good outcomes (but terrible constipation).  I've also tried Unisom (1/2 a tablet before bed) and t worked but made me so groggy that I couldn't take it and still function.  Might look into either of those.  The nausea sucks!

  • It's weird. This time around the only thing that helped were eating/sucking on LemonHeads candy.  Totally helped out with the nausea which is all I had this time around.

  • Ive had hypermesis since about 8 weeks and tried everything under the sun before I just went ahead and got on the RX stuff. At almost 26 weeks, I could still not survive without my zofran, phennigran (sp?), and pepcid.

I hope you can find something to help make you feel better, the first few months were the worst of, maybe my life lol... throwing up more than 10-15 times a day and hospitalized 6 times for dehydration and lack of nutriants. NOT fun!

     Good Luck!

  • I also have HG, as I did with my last pregnancy. after trying all the ginger, teas, bands, acupunture, crackers, whatever I went on Zofran, which allowed me to function. I had so much vertigo without it, that I couldn't walk 2 steps without running to the bathroom. couldn't drive, etc..

My midwife said it was more important to be getting the nutrients and not lose any more weight. I couldn't drink anything either and was getting dehydrated. I still need it at 25 weeks but I'll try to wean again next month.

I also had hyperemesis until 22 weeks and I honestly tried everything.  I tried the 1/2 unisom and b6 tablets, everything ginger, preggo pops, herbal supplements, acupuncture, sea bands.  You name it, I tried it.  I was desperate but the only thing that helped me (like ppl) was zofran.  I was on the zofran pill for about 3 weeks but it stopped working and was put on phenegran (sp??) and that didn't do anything so, I ended up back in the hospital.  I was eventually put on IV and zofran pump and that saved my life!  It took about a week or so for it to kick in but after that, I was able to get out of my house after months of being stuck at home.  I hope you find something to help you relieve m/s.  Good luck!

  • I used Bnatal suckers (samples supplied by my dr then ordered a box from CVS) which helped me. Though to be honest, not sure if they worked because I made myself believe they did or if they actually do ;o) I also noticed that if I ate throughout the day, the nausea was less likely to appear.

  • Not much really worked, except the Zofran that I eventually had to go on.  Temporary relief would come from jolly ranchers.   A friend gave me "Prego Pops" which seemed to help a little for a few days.  The nurse suggested that I try eating some potato chips to settle my stomach.   I was able to keep down gatorade - although it didn't help the ms.    Sorry. Hope it ends soon!
