Time for Cheese.... (A.I.)
I guess we jinxed Pia last night by talking so much smack.... have to say I am shocked she went home though this early in the game. She was talented and Stefano and Haley definitely deserve to be kicked off way before her. America is really screwing up their voting this season... First Casey, now Pia.
On the brighter side, the upset didn't ruin my pool that much. I am still in third since no one got full points.

Stefano and Haley have needed to be GONE since like the 1st week.
Casey, Pia, Paul...all people who shouldnt even be seeing the bottom 3 so early on.
Strike 1 was Casey, Strike 2 was Paul on bottom 3, & Strike 3 was Pia getting kicked off. I'm no longer watching this show for the rest of the season lol.
My dad and I half wonder if it's rigged sometimes. Seems there's a big shocker like this almost every season. (Though, to be fair, this is the first season I've watched in a few years.) It *definitely* should have been Stefano, and I think he knows it.
DH says he thinks the issue is the way they have the votes set up. I didn't realize this before, but I read somewhere that you can vote on facebook now, and you have up to 50 votes per person. That's just stupid--they're just trying to make it sound like their ratings are higher than they are. And then you have a bunch of 13 year old girls voting 50+ times for Stefano because he's cute. I know Pia isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think we would all agree she's more talented than Stefano, and didn't deserve to go home this early.
Yea but if you are calling in your votes; you can call as many times as you want within the 2 hour voting period so I don't think the 50 votes online makes much of a difference. I think either not enough people are voting, or, like you said, people like stefano are getting votes because they're appealing to whatever crowd.
Blah it's still annoying though.
I almost threw my remote at my TV last night!
DH and I were talking about it and we think it should work like this:
Contestants sing, America votes, bottom 3 are announced based on votes and then the JUDGES decide who is going home that week. When it gets to the top 5, it's all up to America at that point and everything is purely off votes, no judges factor in. I think this ensures the proper talent and variety get into the top 5 vs. all the teeny bopper girls who sit at home voting for the cutest boy that sings. Just my opinion!
You should totally be in charge of A.I. This is a great idea!
ITA with this. I've always thought it should work that way. I would even wait til the top 3 to leave it all up to America.
Pia was one of my favorites; I'm really bummed that she went home. Especially when folks like Stefano, Haley and Lauren are still on. I barely ever watch the results show, and I didn't watch it last night - were the judges in shock? I seriously wonder if the judges regret using their save on Casey instead of saving it for now, because I know they all thought Pia was super talented.

I didn't hear it the first time, but Ryan repeated it last night. I think that alone is going to come back and bite him in the a$$.
I don't vote but only because it takes so long to get through on the phone lines.... The judges were shocked and completely pissed off. Lopez looked like she was going to lose it and bust out in tears at any moment. It was quite the upset.
I totally agree that it should be judges votes from the bottom three. Would make for much better television and America would get an accuarate idol.....
I agree, Stefano should definately of went home. I agree with PP that sometimes I think the voting is rigged. I kind of miss Simon and I am ready for his show "The X Factor"
Personally, I think the judges effed this up badly. First, why in the hell would they use their save so early in the competition?! As soon as they used it to save Casey (who I don't think is all that great), I told my husband they would ultimately regret it.
Second, they need to actually JUDGE the contestants! Jacob sucked, Stefano wasn't that great, Lauren is overrated IMO, Paul wasn't that great. But the judges all told them they were great! Well, except Randy who had some criticism for Stefano.
This. I don't exactly miss Simon--he was too much for me personally. But geez, you guys--give some actual criticism! I feel like Randy is the only one consistently giving constructive criticism, and even he seems to be holding back a little.
I get why people feel that way, and I figured that's why she got voted off. But come on...she's better than Stefano, right?
I am right there with you - it seemed like the whole "Casey" thing a few weeks back was a publicity stunt! My fiance said "no no, that is real". But, I just wasn't buying it.
