So our due date was March 30th and our little one was stubborn until April Fools Day! On our due date I had the doctor check me to see if I was dilated at all and I was only 2 cm and 50% effaced. I had him estimate the babies size and he said about mid 7 lbs...he also swept my membranes to see if that would help things along. On April 1st at about 1:30 am, I got up to go to the bathroom and went back to bed. I was just about to fall back asleep or had just fallen back asleep when I felt a pop and sat up in bed thinking "What the hell was that??!!" I went to sit on the toilet again to see what would happen and liquid started coming out so I knew that my water had broken. I went back in our bedroom and turned on the light and said to my sleeping husband "Luke...hospital." I have never seen anyone jump up out of bed so fast in my life!!! It will forever be imprinted in my mind!!

So we got to the hospital about 2:15-2:30 and they checked me, I was 3 cm dilated and 100% effaced. I had started having contractions in the car and they were getting worse. I had intended to just have regular IV pain meds but that DID NOT happen. I couldn't stand the pain so after a couple hours I got the epidural. LIFESAVER!

We rested for awhile and the next time the nurse checked me at around 7 am I was 9 cm. I managed to wait until my doctor got there (who just happened to go on call at 8 am Thank God) and we pushed for about an hour and then she was here!! I was so happy she was a girl! DH wanted/thought it was a boy for sure but he's in love with her as much as I am. Amelia DiAnne was born 4-1-2011 at 9:43 am, 8 lbs 7.8 oz, 20.5 inches long. She is sooo beautiful!!! I just can't stop cuddling her! Everything is going great, she sleeps pretty good at night now and only wakes up a couple times to nurse. She does however hate sponge baths, having her clothes off and getting diaper changes! Hoping she gets used to them. I hate hearing her cry but I'm getting more used to it now and having everyone reassure me that it's normal and okay for babies to cry, even good for their lungs. Her one week appointment was yesterday and it was horrible, she screamed the whole time since we had to take her clothes off! I had to feed her before we left the room because I knew that was the only way she would settle down. It was soo bad. Then I had to change her at Wal-Mart and she screamed for that too. Poor baby was probably tired on top of everything else. Everytime she fell asleep that day it seemed like she was woken up shortly after so that didn't help. Sooo that is our birth story, I'm not technically a March mama anymore but I figure I will stay on here because I somewhat know everyone on here and nobody on April board. I would love to post a few pics of her but I don't know how??? If anyone can let me know that would be great! ~Thanks for reading!

Congrats on your baby girl! My boyfriend freaked out too when I woke him up at 4am to tell him it was time to go to the hospital. You can upload a pic on photobucket.com and copy the url and paste it into your signature on here. I hope that helps?
