Best home, prenatal workout videos for sculpting/cardio

I have a gym membership but with my new work schedule of around 48 hours it's hard to get there as often as I did pre-pregnancy.

I am used to cardio like the elliptical and spinning bike and I have been weight training regularly since I was a teenager (now 34). Can anyone recommend a good, hard at home workout video? I have weights, resistance bands and a stability ball. Oh, and I'm 15 weeks!

 Thank you!

  • I like the Gabrielle Reece Prenatal workouts.  There is no cardio but it does have a good weight routine.

  • The same workouts you would do if you weren't pregnant.

Seriously, just keep going and adjust when your body tells you to. I kept up with free weights until about 28 weeks, and did machines at the gym until 32 weeks. I could still be doing it, but work travel made me take a break and I don't feel like getting that sore again like I do when I start up after a break.

Thank you! I will check it out on amazon!

  • I just assumed if you've been working out for decades, you'd have a clue.

IMO,  prenatal videos suck if you're actually in shape. My home workouts are/were kettlebell lifting, yoga podcasts, and getting outside for a run or walk.

  • I recently got Sommer Sanders' workout and I really like it.  I wouldn't say its "hard" but I think the workout definitely respectable.  Enjoyable and effective.  Lots of squats, lunges, and arm-work.  They use a resistance band but I also use weights to make it more challenging.  Its about 45 minutes long. Its more of a toning/sculpting workout.

If you haven't already, you should search amazon for "prenatal workout".  The reviews there are really helpful and the main thing folks seem to discuss is the difficulty level of each video workout.

  • The only workout video I found that was worth it was The Bar Method- prenatal workout. But I would just continue your exercise routine you are already doing... just lighten the load and do more reps.

Thank you, I will check it out. The reason I want a home workout is because of my work schedule- I'm up to almost 50 hours a week which leaves less time for the gym. It's much easier to do a video when I only have an hour to spare :)

I have reviewed Amazon and I noticed this one. I can't do lunges/squats (injured knee) but it sounds like a good workout. Thank you!

ITA.  I have been continuing my regular workouts and simply modifying if necessary.  I walk and weight train.  The prenatal workouts I have tried have been incredibly NMS....and unfortunately I've wasted enough money on multiple workouts to avoid them from now on.
