How old is your LO? When during the day do they usually wakeup, eat, and take their naps? How long are their naps? When is bedtime, and how long are they awake between their last nap and bedtime?
I think my DD's routine needs some tweaking (her naps are short and all over the place!) so I'm doing a little research!
Thanks in advance!!
(If its easier you can answer in a E A S list format, IYKWIM)
Re: What's your 7 or 8 month old LO's routine?
DS usually wakes up around 7:30am on his own. (have to wake him at 6am on work days)
He takes an 8oz bottle when he wakes up.
Around 8:30 he has yogurt or cereal.
10:30am-8oz bottle
11-1pm Usually naps in here
2:30pm-8oz bottle
3-4pm (usually another small nap)
5:30pm-dinner solids- fruit, veggies, meat puree'd
6ish-bathtime on bath nights....
7pm-8oz bottle, book and bedtime.
We will start the third solid meal soon, but haven't yet.
My LO is 8.5 months old. The following is our schedule (although there is a lot of wiggle room from day to day).
6:30/7 wake up, nurse
8 breakfast
9:15 nap for 1 hour, 20 mins
10:45 nurse
12/12:30 lunch
1:30 nap for 1 hour (ish)
2:45/3 nurse
5:30 nurse
6 dinner
7:45 nurse
8 bedtime
Generally his naps are 1 hour and 20 mins but they could be 40 mins or 2 hours. If both naps are short then he might take a cat nap around 4:30. Otherwise there's about 5 hours between last nap and bedtime (which is sometimes hard). He's in the middle of transitioning from 3 to 2 naps.
This is an ideal day. Of course every day varies...
7 (ish) Wakes and nurse
8:30 breakfast
10-12 nap and nurse when he wakes
1:30 lunch
3-4:30 nap and nurse when he wakes
6 dinner
7:30 nurse and bed
He typically wakes between 7 and 8. I feed him a meal 1-2 hrs after he wakes and he is awake for 2.5-3 hrs at a time. Naps are now typically 1.5-2 hrs and he sleeps through the night.
This is what our schedule looks like *most* days:
6:30am- wake up
7am- nurse
8:30am- breakfast
8:45/9:00am-10:00/10:30am- first nap
11am- nurse
12pm- snack (sometimes)
12:30pm- lunch
1:30pm-2:30/3:00- second nap
3:00pm- nurse
4:30pm- snack
5:30pm- dinner
6:30pm- bedtime routine
6:50pm- nurse
7pm- sleep! (he does not STTN)
ETA: forgot afternoon nursing and snack.
So based on what you gals are posting, I'm thinking I'm not keeping DD up long enough. She is giving me 30 minute naps, but I'm only keeping her up about 2 1/2 hours before putting her down. Her tired signs are so subtle these days, I'm always afraid I'll keep her up too long and she'll get overtired!
Thanks for your replies, and I'd love to see anyone else's routine who cares to share!! Thanks!
