AW: Had a great OB appt today
Both LO and I are healthy, no GD and belly growing on track.
Basically, I asked my OB if she thought I would be able to be "left alone" by everyone other than her during labor. (The only negative experiences I had during my last labor were those regarding the residents from the hospital because they would check for dilation and still not feel sure they knew and they "broke my waters" 3x). She said she completely understood and felt like i could labor alone as long as i had nearly contast fetal monitoring.
I asked a bunch of other things too but I just wanted to share that i'm super encouraged by today's appt!

Yay for no GD! I was bugged by residents my first time, too. One came to "give me my epidural" after it was already in. Nice. They were also part of my c-section... that was bad. I would definitely refuse their involvement if I was giving birth at a hospital this time, but I will be at a birth center if all goes well. I know they need to learn, but I just wouldn't be comfortable having residents so involved with my own birth next time.
Laboring uninterrupted should be less stressful for you, I'd imagine. As for the constant fetal monitoring, just something to consider... there's some research that says it doesn't improve outcomes but does increase c-section rates. I can find a source for you later if you'd like (I've read it multiple places). So maybe she'd be willing to negotiate there? I've heard once an hour for fifteen minutes mentioned before. That way they can make sure baby's doing well but you're not constantly on the monitor. Maybe ask about telemetry (wireless monitoring) too?
