Babysitter fired US!

I posed last week about the LO meeting strangers w/ the babysitter and the babysitter taking LO places w/out letting us know.  So DH confronted her this morning and just asked that she let us know before she takes LO somewhere (I don't think it's too much to ask that I know where LO is at all times).  Today, the babysitter fired us!  She said "I think you need to find someone else to watch LO" when I picked her up.  Seriously?  Oh well, we wanted to put LO somewhere else anyway.

Re: Babysitter fired US!

  • That kind of sucks? I'm always worried our sitter will fire us because of how crabby DS can be!

  • Sounds like it's for the best though!

  • Consider it a blessing in disguise.  I don't know if you have much of an option, but I would not take her back at all.  You just never know what people will do..

She is actually DH's friend's mom (DH's friend was in our wedding).  I just don't want it to be awkward b/c we still want to be friends w/ them.  It's just clear that we have different parenting styles, which is ok.

Yeah, you're better off without her.

Agreed. I think this will make it less awkward in the long run. It sounds like you would have had more than one disagreement over how she should do things, and this way, it's a one-time thing.

Just be friendly and relaxed next time you see them; after that it will be fine.
