s/o announcements

Talking about doing photo announcements (probably from shutterfly). My MIL wants to also get photo stamps... you know, where you get legal USPS postage made out of a photo you upload.

I'm thinking "Hey, there'll be GREAT pictures of the kid ON THE DAMNED CARD. Why do we need one that the USPS will stamp over when they cancel the stamp?"

In my mind, it's a total waste of money. I mean, it's like an extra 30 cents per stamp... that extra could go towards slightly nicer cards to begin with. Thoughts?

I think photo stamps are a big waste of money.

Agreed. It's almost a spoiler, since the photo will look bad after days in the mail and getting stamped over. Just wait for the good photo inside, I think.

I think the photo stamps are a waste of money too but would let her know if she wants to pay for them and order them then she could.

If she wants to pay, go for it...but I couldn't do that. I have too many to send out for the extra cost!

I think the photo stamp is a waste. Why spend more money on something thats just going to get stamped over at the post office and then thrown away.

DH works for the USPS and he says he laughs whenever he sees photo stamps because most people don't realize they get stamped and marked on-which is a waste of money and it's not like the stamp is getting saved anyway.
