Moby wrap

Any advice for a first timer? Also, I'm less than 2 weeks out from my c section. Should I wait? Thanks.

  • Not sure about c-section advice but I love my wrap. We started really using it around week 3. LO hangs out in it while I do chores and then usually falls asleep. I have him facing sideways so he can see out a little. Sometimes I also carry him around in the bjorn but he seems to prefer the wrap. Good luck!! :)
  • I was just thinking of posting this earlier!!  i worry that he won't like it if I don't start him in it soon!!

  • I found watching videos  really helpful.  This one is good:

  • I had a c-section and used mine right at about 2 1/2 weeks.  It shouldn't sit anywhere near your incision and I never felt any discomfort from the wrap.  Just take whatever you're doing slowly.  My DD LOVES the Moby and I love it too- it's so comfortable and I feel so close to her.  And I don't think you have to get them used to it- I've tried a couple of different positions and she just falls right to sleep no matter which one I use.

    Good luck!

  • I watched a few videos on youtube to get the hang of it!  I haven't had Dayne in there for extended periods but it seems pretty easy!

  • I just tried it for the first time yesterday. I watched some youtube videos to watch how to do it. I think it's going to be a huge help so I can finally start getting some housework done and still keep LO close.

  • We started using it just after five weeks and DD loves it.  She's asleep in it right now.  I tried it first with a stuffed animal.  It takes a few times to get the hang of wrapping it correctly.

  • I would try it with a doll or stuffed animal first for peace of mind and getting use to it with a non squirmy object. If you have a store that sells them close to your house go in there for your first use. Often they have a lot of knowledge on how to use them and they can help you with it. My local baby stores tell me to come in anytime I had questions (and I didn't even buy it from them).

  • I used mine within a week of DS being born and it was really handy for taking him to the store. Wrapping it was easier than I thought it would be, I thought the included directions were easy to follow - and this is coming from someone who is challenged in this arena!  Good luck!Smile

  • i was just considering busting mine out after a trip of holding Addison and watching my old dog slowly pace around outside.  i was thinking "this is why i registered fort hat moby wrap that's sitting in Addy's room" and now you girls are pushing me to actually try it!

  • My section was on 3/4 and I used the Moby wrap the first week when I took him for a weight check.  Its like carrying him rather than carrying him IN a car seat (HEAVY!).  When the wrap is on securely its no where near my incision.  Plus my mom had to have surgery on 3/14 and Hunter was in the Moby for about 4 hours except when he needed to be changed or nursed (I haven't mastered nursing in the wrap yet).
