Trying to Get Pregnant

Very small temp rise?

Ok.. for the past four days, my temp's have only been rising by about .02 degrees each day.. is this still considered a significant enough temp rise to show O? I am still new at this, but I am thinking I may have O'd CD 15, even though I got two more positive OPK's after a positive and two negatives on the 3 days prior. What do you think? I felt like I O'd yesterday (CD 18) because of cramps and such, but my chart doesn't really show that.

Sorry to post 98240934 posts about my chart.. but I am a control freak and I just HAVE to know what's going on! You gals rock Stick out tongue

Re: Very small temp rise?

  • I know I've read about this on FF but I can't remember what the "qualifications" were for this type of slow increase.  Have you looked around on FF for slow rising O temps and tried a coverlay on your chart?  I think it looks very possible that you did O on CD 15, especially based on your +OPK and watery CM, but it's also possible- as I'm sure you know- that you may not have Od yet.  GL, hope you figure it out soon!

  • From reading TCOYF 'typically' you should see a 0.2 change in your temp to indicate O and shift from the Follicular to Luteal phase of your cycle.  TCOYF does also indicate everyone is different and the shift may not be as noticable for everyone, with a shift of 0.2 or more...so it could take a few cycle to recognize when you actually O if you don't have a large swing in your BBT.

The best way to know is to cross-check your BBT with your CM and Cervical position (you seem to already be doing that). Based on your chart it looks like you should O today or tomorrow.

  • I'd say that you have not O'd yet.  Those temps are still below the previous ones (except the one directly before them).  But it looks like your body is gearing up a second time, so fingers crossed that you O today or tomorrow!

  • I actually got a positive on CD 14, negative on CD 15 and 16, and positives on CD 17 and 18.. NO idea why! I have been testing twice a day.

Does TCOYF say a 0.2 change, or 0.02? Just wanted to make sure you typed it correctly so I can figure out if it applies to me. Thanks for the info :)

As far as CM... UGH! Haha I just hate it. I barely ever see ANY, and if I do, it's not ewcm. And as for cervical position..  I've tried it, but I have no idea what I'm feeling for around in there.. haha

  • Definitely too small of a rise to indicate O. A slow rise is .1 degree at a time and a typical rise is at least .2 over the past six temps.

TCOYF says 0.2, even though most BBT thermometers measure out to hundreths... I don't think that was the answer you wanted... You see really close though with the slow rise, if you O today or tomorrow, your baseline BBT could be around 97.3 or 97.4.  If your temp hits 97.5 or higher tomorrow morning, I would think you O'ed today.

Hmm okay.. thanks so much for the info!! I just wish I could have a 'normal' chart for once.. those charts in TCOYF look SO different than mine, so it's hard to know how to read mine... oh well, a girl can dream... :)

I think I finally figured out CP!!!!!  So, with my temp dip yesterday, I was concerned I didn't O yet, so, I decided to give it the old 2 finger try and feel around to see if it felt like it did back in the time just before, during, and directly after CD 16, which is when I truly feel I O'ed.  When I felt around when I think I did O, it felt like there was a little hole on my cervix, if I really wanted to, I may have been able to put my pinky finger in, but when I felt yesterday and today, I felt where the hole was, but now it was obviously closed and felt like the tip of a nose as people and FF have described.

  • I think thats way too low to signal ovulation.  Give it a few days and see what it does :)
