Fitness question for Moms

I am not overweight but still have a flabby stomach that makes me look like 2 months pregnant. I stopped doing my cardio because I quit my job and I would work out at the gym. I am 4 11 and weigh 117 so not bad, but like I said I just wish I could tone stomach a tad bit more. I have been doing 90 situps everyday but still skeptical. Is there any moms out there that just did that and felt an improvement? I know the best is cardio to lose fat, and can't really spot an area but will sit ups actually help someone like me to see a change. I would like to hear from moms who didn't have a strict work out routine and ate somewhat healthy, but just did some crunches or situps and saw a change.

Re: Fitness question for Moms

  • I've seen some change with crunches but not enough.  My baby weight is gone, but the flabby stomach is not.  I'm a healthy eater but am still struggling to get back into a normal work out routine (I'm a runner).  I'm actually going to join my local rowing club.  I used to be a member and really loved it.  It's great for abs (and pretty much your whole body!).

  • I agree with pp, it's 90% what you eat.

  • The best moves you can do to help trim fat is weights with cardio.  Jillian Michaels has some great dvds if you want to work out at home in the living room.  It's just jump roping, punches, jumping, jumping jacks and punching.  Those are great cardio moves that don't require equipment or a gym membership.  And doing that along with dumbell rows or flies will get rid of fat and tone.  For the belly sit ups, planks along with cardio moves should be effective.
