I was clipping A's fingernails earlier, she flailed, and I cut her finger. It bled so much, I thought I cut the tip off. D@mn Safety First clippers. More like safety last.
She cried for like 30 minutes straight.
For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.

Awww the good thing is that she'll never remember it. It happens! I haven't cut A's finger yet thankfully. If you want to feel better, my Aunt was cutting one of her friend's son's fingernails and took off his entire pinky nail. Yeah.
I am scarred for life. I may never be able to cut her nails again.

I went to wipe Ry's nose this morning. He moved at the last second and i poked him right in the eye...with my nail. I hope and pray that he blinked before I got him. I feel like the worst mom ever.
I've also cut him while clipping his nails

Aw, it does happen. I did that to DS about 2 months ago after a bath. I felt terrible! He did feel better soon after and it healed quickly. It's ok mama.
Oh, Baby Bean! We will always miss you! With us for 6w3d -- June 9, 2008. 2 years of TTC, Seeing RE Feb 09, 2 medicated TI cycles - BFNs, 3 medicated IUIs - BFNs, back to medicated TI cycles until IVF approval, IVF approved in March 2010. BFP on last medicated TI cycle.
I did this a couple of days ago. I don't think I got her as bad, didn't bleed and she didn't even notice. But I still felt just awful. She'll be ok. We have to take care of those nails or they claw their little faces.
I give up trying to get a ticker. I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome. Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself. Hmmm. How about...

I'm scared of nail clippers near L, so I still bite his nails. I felt really bad one time when I accidently scratched his butt with my nail while I was changing him and it bled. Luckily I don't think he noticed.
Gah, there is a huge blood blister on her finger now. It looks terrible. ::cries::
She is a finger sucker, I should probably leave it alone right? I feel like I need to disinfect it or something...
For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.

How could anyone clip a baby's fingernails when baby is awake???
I hope I never cut my baby boy's finger, it must feel horrible! I did once however bite his finger, when feeding him, he kept putting his hands in his mouth, he was wearing mittens, and I had both hands busy, one holding bottle, other holding LO, so I thought it would be easy move his hand with my mouth by pulling from the mitten, well... I bite LO finger and I started crying, it is the most awful feeling... Specially because he cried so hard... he was a few weeks old btw...
When Kirstin was born she had long nails. I tried to cut them and cut her finger. Ever since then DH has banned me from clipping nails. It happens, at least she won't remember.
This happen to me a few weeks ago..She screamed forever and bled for a while! I felt terrible..I can still see it on her thumb, even though it is healed. Of course it happened 3 days before her 4 month checkup. I don't think I put her down for the rest of the night until she went to bed. I will never try to cut her nails when she is awake again!
I just did this like 2 weeks ago and it did seem like it bled really bad, but she didn't even notice, didn't cry or anything. I felt horrible. It healed in a day or so though, but I won't use those safety first clippers anymore, they are terrible.

Its okay Mama. I did the exact same thing. I think A handled it better than I did. And I had so prided myself on not having clipped her, but sure enough it happened. She healed up just fine:)
Although, I haven't clipped her nails since. I keep making my mom do it for me!

Been there. But I didn't notice the first one and then did it to a second finger on the other hand. My husband said it looked like a scene from MASH.
I now use a file. Takes longer, but no chance of blood!
