Tell me about your toys

And I mean your LO's toys...not your "toys" dirty birds.

Em has just started playing with toys--grasping rattles etc.  We have a teeny tiny house so we're very careful not to clutter it with junk but I also don't want to skimp on stimulating her senses.

So with that, what kind of toys do you all have?  Are you big into getting every little thing or are there some basic staples?

Re: Tell me about your toys

  • Lil C has been playing with one of those xylophones (yes, it says 2+ years on the box) and the ring stacking tower and stuffed animals. He has a stuffed dog we got from Wal-Mart where only the head is stuffed, the body is flat and makes crinkly noises, and the feet are teethers, that he just loves. He also has a piano thingee intended for inside the crib but works fine laid out on floor, where each of the five keys plays a different tune for a few seconds before animal noises. He is just as excited to play with the tv remote or cell phone or a rag or burp clothe or empty box, etc. It just has to hold his interest and stimulate his mind.

  • LO has this seahorse rattle that she loves. It goes every where with us, she shakes it and chews on it!

  • The only things he's into right now are his feet. Or chewing on blankets or burp cloths. He loves his activity mat. Toy wise, we have this Bright Starts teething toy that is kind of windy and has plastic beads that slide on it. He loves it because he can grasp it easily and put it in his mouth.
