I really think that I'm dealing with ppd, and I don't know where to start? Anyone have someone on the eastside that they went to, and did they take insurance? I know I wouldn't hurt my kids but I sort of feel like I'm self distructing. Things sort of came to a head last night and I really need to get help. TIA
Re: ppd help?
I don't have any advice for you other than talking to your OB.
I just want to give you a big hug....I know you've been dealing with a tough situation with J and I know how hard it is to have a baby that has GERD/Acid Reflux

Hang in there mama!
first, good for you for getting help. I hope you feel better soon!
Call the number on the back of your insurance for EAP and you will get a few free sessions. they can rec someone who specializes in PPD. My OB refered me to someone after I had W so you could try there as well.
Hugs to you, Tiff, we're here if you need anything!

Oh Big hugs... I didnt deal with PPD, but just plain old depression, which I am sure was exacerbated with the twins
I would call your OB if you havent already. Ask to speak with the triage nurse. Meds can take 4-6 weeks to kick in...
Ask them also for a referral to a good psychologist. A psychologist wont prescribe (your OB or primary can do that, unless you think you need a psychiatrist), but a psychologist will talk and get you feeling better. my gal is amazing, but she is here in renton (if you want to travel I'll share on FB or email) but you will probably want to see someone closer to you... be sure to find one that is a good fit... that you can talk to easily...
can you schedule some other times for you during the week? how's your sleep? I know its lousy with a newborn, but so critical to feeling better and more like yourself. If corey cant get up with J during the night, how about a doula? even if its 2-3 nights only...
I'll send good thoughts... you are a fabulous mamma, do what you need to do to keep that going!
hugs.....
You are already on the right track and taking steps in the right direction. You can do it!

I also want to give a shout out to get some good help! I hope your appt goes well.
I'd also like to add to check your Vitamin D levels! This time of year my Seasonal Depression got awful...and you could have a combo of both PPD and SAD! I've been watching your news and it sounds like it's been a hard Feb/March/April for dark weather. Get some light therapy if you can.
And I've had some crazy thoughts too, never about my kids though - but I've been there. I'm here to talk if you need!
Easter 2011
Big squeezy hugs to you! I know how awful it is. It's debilitating. I dealt with PPD for over 6 months until I finally stopped the denial and realized I needed help asap. I'm really glad you're taking the steps to get help sooner than that. The newborn part is so especially hard with the sleep deprivation. Also, ditto PP on the Vitamin D. They tested my levels and found they were extremely low, so now I'm taking a mega dose of Vitamin D in addition to Prozac, and I feel so.much.better.
I hope you start feeling better soon. We're all here for you! Feel free to PM me if you want to talk!
Everything IG said! Taking the first step is the hardest. You can get through this!!
I'm going to make an AWESOME big brother.
