Returning shower items to BRU w/o receipts

I just had my shower on Saturday and have some returns (mostly multiples of several things) for most I have no gift receipts.  How is BRU with this?

Also my sister bought me LO's crib bedding on BRU online and got me the wrong one can I return this at the store from online?

  • Without a receipt, they might still let you return it if it was on your registry.  I am in a situation right now where someone bought me something that wasn't on my registry, and I don't have the gift receipt.  I went to BRU last night and they wouldn't return it for store credit or anything.  So I added it to my registry, marked it as purchased, and I'll try again tonight.

    In regards to online purchases, the website states:

    Online purchases can also be returned to any Toys"R"Us or Babies"R"Us store location for merchandise credit when returned within 90 days of the purchase date.

  • BRU has a no receipt no return policy or at least they did last year when I had DD.  Completely sucked and made me cry.  Thankfully Walmart took some of the stuff without a receipt.

  • we returned things last night and didn't have a problem as long as I put them on the registry and marked them bought before we went into the store.  I didn't try it the other way (without adding them to the registry), but it went pretty easily and didn't have any problems with the 3 things I returned.

  • We took something back that wasn't even bought there. The item was bought at Target but online and target wouldn't take it back because it wasn't sold in the store. We took it back to BRU and had no problem. They gave us store credit and we got a little less back for it than it was sold for at Target, but who cares, we still got to exchange it for other things.
  • I read on another post a while back that if the item was on your registry that they will take it back no problem without a receipt. And if it isn't on your registry then you should add it before you go to return it. Hope it works for you!

    The item I returned wasn't on my registry nor did I even have a registry at BRU.

    The BRU I returned the item at was in Miami. If you have never lived in Miami you may not know this but rules are not as set in stone there, they are more like suggestions. If you sweet talk the right person (or bring your Cuban MIL to do it) you can get anything done there. ;) In other words, my situation might not be exactly what others have experienced.

  • I returned a few things without receipts and had no problems at all, but I made sure they were from my registry first. Thank goodness the two car seats we got both came with receipts, since neither showed up as being bought from the registry, even though the ladies purchased them from there.

    Same here except it came from Amazon originally.

    BRU didn't give me a bit of trouble, and most of the stuff wasn't on my registry and I didn't have receipts. Target on the other hand was a total pain!

  • I returned something without a receipt, and while they wouldn't give me money back, they did give me a store credit, which was perfectly fine with me.

  • The BRU near me has a super strict return policy, but I was able to convince them to take back a few things on my registry that I didn't have receipts for.  It's worth a try.

    You may or may not be able to return the bedding purchased online in the store.  I think if they carry it in the store, you might have better luck.

  • I returned everything without a problem but it was on my registry and marked off as purchased. Couple of the things returned were from Amazon.

  • I was able to return things from my registry without a receipt with no problem.  I just got a store credit.  I was also able to return things without a receipt that weren't on my registry.  Also got a store credit for these things.

  • I haven't had any issues returning to BRU with or without a receipt.
