This month is my son's cub scout's "Father Son Bake Sale".
FAther and son are to bake a cake, decorate it, and then it get's auctioned off at the big pack meeting as a fundraiser.
As with *most* of the father son teams....they've never baked a thing! (This is why it is funny and popular)
Anyone have easy cake ideas that won't take much prompting from "mom" in the background. My son is 6.....and FI can make Ramen noodles and eggs. That's about it.......
Re: Any good cake makers out there?
So are you looking for a recipe for a cake made from scratch? Or just decorating ideas? I actually make wedding cakes, etc. If you're looking for decorating ideas, I have made 2 father's day cakes that I think would be appropriate:
Fishing Cake
Golf Cake
And here's just my cake tag from my blog if you're interested.
If you want a good recipe, I suggest Hershey's "perfectly chocolate" chocolate cake. It's easy and always comes out good!
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls!
Baby Girl #3!
Decorating ideas are OK. There is a theme *IF* they want to use it. The theme is "faith". But I don't think a cross and a wiccan pentogram on one cake is gonna fly...
AS far as cakes. I was hoping for an easy one from scratch....but boxed is cool too. Trying to get yummy/creative as they can get for two amateurs!
"Happy Birthday Cake"
Mix above ingredients for 2 minutes
Add:
Beat for an additional 2 minutes
Bake in a greased 9X13 pan at 350 for 35-45. It might take longer because it is a very wet cake. Make sure to 'test' it with a toothpick in the middle to make sure it's done. The cake tastes awesome, I can eat it just out of the oven with no icing!
