I just called PETA again to talk about the vasectomy contest and they will put me through to an automated recording that will then basically tell you you should adopt (which is a wonderful choice, don't get me wrong). The automated recording just adds to the offensiveness of the whole thing. So then I called back and told the woman I didn't want a recording, I wanted a person and then I lectured her for a few minutes. They don't want to hear it. They don't even care. I thought maybe they would be nicer if I was nicer but I was wrong so I just went back to swearing.

OMG, this makes me so fuuking mad. One of the points of National IF Awareness week is so people learn not to make stupid comments like that!

I don't like the idea of wishing infertility on anyone but I'm starting to think it would be nice if the people who came up with the idea had to try a bit longer than normal should they choose to try procreating....

I called them today and got the recording too and was FUMING it was so offensive. I hope the recording means they are getting inundated with calls, although I'm pretty sure they want the attention and don't give a shi*t about what we think.

While adoption is a wonderful option, I hate the fact that everyone immediately pulls out that phrase ("just adopt"). It's not for everyone. It can be expensive. Some people really want to experience pregnancy. And of course, if they adopt they'll then hear "now you'll get pregnant". You can't win.

And I'm not sure how not having any children will promote PETA's agenda.

But we all know they just want attention, positive or negative doesn't matter to them.

First of all, I hate them so much, and I also hate that I am wasting time and energy on an organization that is so fuucked up to begin with. They are 100% into self promotion and pissing people off, and don't even stand by their own morals. Also, they are so insistent upon adoption, however they don't offer their employees adoption assistance (or at least their HR page doesn't have anything about it).

The good news is that I called them twice yesterday, the first time they didn't know who to transfer me to, and the second time I was on hold waiting for an operator for about 5 minutes and then was able to give my "message" to the girl who answered the phone (they didn't have the recording yet) so obviously people are pissed and calling. The other good news is that nobody but the crazies give them the time of day.

I hope they give ALL their supporters free vasectomies.
