Funny Random story from today

So I'm in the process of changing Dr's from the nice, but not so experienced Dr I tried out in Enumclaw, to the much nicer and much more experienced Dr's down at Associated Valley OBGYN (Does anyone else see Dr. Kovacs?).

So they had me call Doc #1 and have all my paperwork transferred down, and in doing this I found out that Doc #1 didnt do any kind of report with the ultrasound, and since they cant fax picutures (too dark) Doc #2 asked me to bring down the pics from my ultrasound so my new Dr could take a look at them and determine if she wants me to have another U/S before 12 weeks or not.

So this brings me to today, I bring my u/s pics down to Associated Valley and the lady at the front desk looks at them and brings them back to the dr for a few minutes. Then they both come out looking at the u/s pic and with very serious faces say, "Do you realize you're having twins?"... Huh? I replied with a simple "Yes, I'm aware" But I wanted to say "what do you think, that I'm an idiot or something?? Of course I know! Not only does that u/s picture obviously have 2 babies in it, but it is actually labled "baby 1" and "baby 2" " I would have to have been a friggin moron to not realize by looking at that picture that it was twins. =P Looking back, I feel I should have pretended like it was the first time I was hearing the news.

I could maybe understand if it weren't clearly labeled, "Baby 1" and "Baby 2", because unless you know what you are looking at those, things can be deceiving. But COME ON! I would have probably laughed out loud at them before I was able to have a clever reaction. I agree that if you didn't know, that was the waaaaay wrong way to tell you! LoL

I see Kovacs and love her! She was awesome through my entire pregnancy and made me so comfortable and relaxed during my c-section. let me know if you have any specific questions about her.

I had Dr. Channell but Dr. Kovacs is really good too. She assisted in my c section with Hayden. Dr. Oxford there was the OB for my friend who had twins last year.

That's weird they would think you wouldn't know. I have to say, though, that I'm constantly surprised by what other people don't see in ultrasounds. I usually have to explain everything but the head on an u/s, when I show them to people.

You are having twins?! Thats pretty funny that they thought you might not know. I think it was Dr K who assisted in my csection. I saw Dr Webb. I really liked everybody and everything about that office.

I would have been tempted to say something smart-alecky like, "Oh, really!? I wasn't there for the ultrasound. Are you sure?" and then cried.

I just remembered on Friends when Monica and Chandler are adopting, and the mom didn't know she was pregnant with twins. And she said something like "The doctor said 'both heartbeats are strong', but I thought he meant mine and the baby's. And I thought, well that's good cause I'm about to have a baby!"

=P

So maybe they just wanted to be sure.
