I got pregnant fairly quick, after about a month of trying. So I'm not sure on this one. A good friend of mine just started trying herself and now is about a week late. She took a test at 4 days late because she said she is normally pretty regular. Not sure how this all works...has anyone took a test early on and it was negative and then later it was positive?
I'm really hopeful for her, my little girl will need a best friend.
Re: Back when you were TTC...
With my second pregnancy, I didn't test positive until I was nearly two weeks late. The test I took two days before was negative.
With this one, I didn't test positive until I was 11 days late and already had pregnancy symptoms. The tests at 5 days, 7 days and 9 days late were all negative.
All of those were with the "test 5 days before your missed period" kits. Which, in my experience, is a load of bs.
That being said, I had a couple of months while we were TTC where I was late for no reason other than wishful thinking and I did get a false positive with an EPT Kit, so after that I only used the Clear Blue Digital kits.
No idea.
But thinks for all the feedback, I'm going to pass it along to her.
yes, that happens all the time. Usually, with your first, the test picks it up pretty quick. Even if you test a week before your period start date. For some people, it doesn't show for a week or two afterwards. It's all different.
With my first and second, they showed up positive a week before my missed period. But, my third it was a week after my missed period when the test came up positive.
I would tell her to wait a week after at least, and try again. : )
I took a test after I was only one day late because I am also very regular, and I got a very dark positive!

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
It can be possible, but at 4 days late she should be able to get an accurate result. Chances are, she ovulated later than she thinks. This website can give you the statistics on the chances she could still be pregnant:

Does your friend know when she ovulated? Chances are she just ovulated later than usual and she's not actually "late" yet.
The cycle I got pregnant with this baby I wasn't charting, so I don't know. My first pregnancy (ended in a loss) I got my positive at 17 dpo, or 3 days late.
Just FYI....a person is only 'late" if they are charting and can pinpoint ovulation.
Have your friend get a copy of 'Taking Charge of your fertiity". It sounds like she (and you) could use some factual information about the whole process.
