Sex & Stitches?

ok so i know it's a bit of TMI but im dying to have a "roll in the hay" with my hubby but i have stitches. i have some in my Urethra and some lower too. any one have any idea of when it's ok to indulge??? im only bleeding lightly anymore like REALLY lightly. and today im 11 days PP.

Wow, you are eager. Generally, doctor's orders are no sex for 6 weeks. This is important for your healing, both externally and internally. You could open yourself up to problems by not waiting. I'm shocked you even want to this early. I still couldn't sit right at 11 days PP.

I was totally not ready at 11 days PP. But, six weeks is the rule of thumb. You really should get the okay from your doctor. The placenta is an open wound in the uterus and you don't want it to get infected. Your cervix is also still probably somewhat dilated and would let more germs in than typically. Isn't just the outside.

I was in your boat too. I would wait the full 6 weeks. its not been easy but your body needs to heal.

Well I guess I was stupid not to wait the full 6 weeks...

I only had one stitch and my bleeding was down to minimal spotting at 2 weeks pp. So I decided to give it a go and it was horrible. Not terribly painful, but not comfortable despite a full gallon of lube. So I would give your body a little longer to heal.

We tried again at 5 weeks pp and it was great! Just give those stitches enough time to heal and make sure you use a condom. Wink

I could have posted this question. I have wanted to have a "roll in the hay" since a cuouple days after delievery. I think I wanted to because its been so long since I've been comfortable and watching my husband take care of our daughter just makes me love him more. Its going to kill me to wait until after my 6 week check up (which will happen at 7 weeks). But we are having fun in the mean time, its almost like we are teenagers again before we did it for the first time.

Ditto this. You could be risking infection. At the very least I would call your OB's office.

I couldn't sit on a diningroom chair comfortably at 11 days pp!
