Question about flying with a toddler out of Newark Airport...

I'm traveling with my in-laws this summer and flying with them from Newark to Florida.  I don't know if they have the scanners down there at that airport.  Have you gone through the scanner with your infant/toddler?  Are you worried about the radiation?  If you didn't go through it, how was the pat down of your baby?  Were you able to go with LO?

Just trying to figure out what I should expect when we go.  TIA!

    DS has been flying atleast twice a year since birth. We either fly out of JFK or Newark. We've always had to pass through the scanners with him. Now that he is 3 he likes to walk through by himself. Honestly I've never been worried about it.

    The scanners don't even enter my mind in terms of safety. He's always just walked through (or been carried) like every other person. Go and enjoy your vacation and don't worry about something like this that you can't control.
