Holiday/work vent =(

I work in a hopsital where many of you know, holidays are just another day! My due date is 10/2. I was banking on the fact that I would be on leave through the very beginning of January... that would be put me off for all the major holidays. Well technically I only get 12 weeks of leave and I will be having a repeat c/s and my ob schedules the c/s in the 39th week which will put me around Sept 26th sometime... I just calculated this and my 12 weeks are up Dec 19th which means I will be back for in time for christmas =( and new years day.... bummer! I was reallllly looking forward to spending my holidays with my family and the new babes! =(

    That's a bummer.  Is there any way you can ask for that extra 10 days or so?

    My due date is 10/12 and I was excited to be out of all the holidays because I work retail and never get to go to any family events because I always have to work! my son was due 8/3 and I went into labor natually 7/24 and he was a big, healthy baby so I'm afraid that I will have this one early too and have to go back right before Christmas! NOO!!! I feel the same as you!

    Sorry to hear that, I'm worried about the same thing. I was really excited when I figured out I'll have the holidays off. My due date is 10/8 and this is my first, I calculated if my LO came that day I'll go back to work right after new years. It would definitely be nice to have all of the holidays off so I hope LO can hold out till then!

    I hope you can work something out with your work so maybe you can at least get the holidays off.

    Awww that really sucks!! I am very thankful that we have a full year of Maternity Leave. I couldn't imagine having to put my child in care after only 12 wks
