It's a long story, and I'm sure this will be an isolated incident -- provided I get the smell out.
I found it within an hour of her doing it so I tried to soak up the cushions as well as I could. Then I treated it with Urine Gone -- it's this enzymatic cleaner made especially for that. I had to literally soak the cushions with the spray because I guess the stain/smell disappears as it dries. DH and I got the black light out last night and it looked like we got everything.
Well, today it still smells really bad. Should I re-treat it? Is there another method you would recommend? It's a recliner sofa, I can't remove the cushions at all. ugh, this is so gross and nothing smells worse.
Help!
Re: NBR: my cat peed on my sofa - how do I get the smell out?
This!
We have a cleaner called Petzyme which is supposed to help break down the smelly enzymes (it doesn't). You can give PetSmart a try and see what they have but between me and my mother we have purchased them all and nothing really does the job. Sorry.
But hey! great excuse for new furniture!
I was going to say burn your couch. Sorry!! I HATE that smell.
Between the basement and the couch... move?
But seriously, I think you need a doover... starting with April 4th.
I'd try the vinegar thing. Here's an ehow link. https://www.ehow.com/how_5001874_clean-cat-pee-off-couch.html
You might also try posting this on the pet board? Maybe they have other ideas?
